మనసులోనె తెలిసి మనసులోనె కలిసి
మనసులోని వాని మరల దిగిచి
మనసు నిల్పువాడు మర్మజ్ఞు డగుయోగి
విశ్వదాభిరామ వినురవేమా !


Understanding well in thy mind uniting thyself with thy mind and seizing him who is in thy mind - he that can stay his mind, this is the yogee who knows the great secret.


తానె తత్త్వమనుచు త న్నెరుగగలేక
మాయ తత్త్వ మనుచు మరుగుచుండు
ధర్మ కర్మములను తగ రోయ తత్త్వమౌ
విశ్వదాభిరామ వినురవేమా !


Ignorant that he is himself the truth, he loves delusion which he imagines to be truth. If truly he sought for uprightness and virtue ( dharma and karma) this should be, to him, that is the source of happiness.


నిరతం బెడతెగకుండ
బరిపూర్ణ బ్రహ్మ మాత్మపదమున నుంచ
నిరవద్యమైన పదవిని
జరియించును జగ మెరుంగ సత్యము వేమా


He, who constantly, without inermisson holdeth the all pervading Divinity in (the place of) his soul, he shall arrive at the ineffable dwelling, he shall truly comprehend the world-this is the truth.


తరుచు చీకటి విడి తరితోడ దను మర్చి
పరమునందు మనసు బదిలపరచి
గరిమయున్న యట్టి ఘనుడెందు లేడురా,
విశ్వదాభిరామ వినురవేమా !


Quitting this thick darkness of ignorance he who in due time forgetteth himself, and who fixeth his mind with care on the supreme, this great noble sage no where is to be found.


త్రాడు పాము యనుచు దాజూచి భయపడి
తెలిపి త్రాడటన్న తీరు భయము
భయము దీరినపుడె బ్రహ్మంబు నంటురా
విశ్వదాభిరామ వినురవేమా !


As when one sees a rope and mistakes it for a snake he is alarmed, but when he knows it is a rope his fear is over. Thus only when fear departs, can we know the true nature of god.


చూచువారికెల్ల జూడ వేరై యుండు
చూపు జూచి తెలియ జూచువారు
చూచి తాము చూపు చూపు తా మగుదురు
విశ్వదాభిరామ వినురవేమా !


The Divinity appears diversely to all those who look him. They who are seeing see and see him with understanding shall behold him; they themselves shall become that vision and that vision, them.


కుండలియోగము దెలిసిన
బండాలపు యోగి కేల బాలకి పొందుల్
దండిగ నీ తనువందే
మెండుగ నొక ముక్తికాంత మెలగురా వేమా


He who comprehends the creed of the sping (kundali) what hath that safe of might to do with the embraces of a girl - nobly in this body shall the maid of beatitude alone shine.


వేమన జెప్పిన వేదము
వేమనకే తెలుయుగాని విను డెరుగ రొరుల్
వేమన నెరిగిన వారికి
వేమరు నేకాక్షరంబు విదితము వేమా


The Veda taught by Vemana in known to him alone, Hear! Others know it not. To those who understand Vemana shall the one letter (Om) be a thousand times taught and permanently impressed on their mind.


దేహియు జ్ఞానానలమున
దాహంబై దేహ మెల్ల్ తల్లడపడ నా
దేహములో పొర్లాడుచు
మోహ మడచి శివునిజూడ ముక్తిర వేమా


The corporal form being burnt in the flame of wisdom the body is all vexed crushing all that desire, that (rolls about or) is afflicted to the body. If thus we behold God, this is beatitude, O Vema!


ధ్యాని వలెనె యుండు మౌని వలెనె యుండు
భోగివలెను నుండు రోగివలెను
సకలము దెలిసినను సర్వజ్ఞుడై యుండు
పరమయోగివలెను పరగ వేమా


He is like to a meditator, like a dumb man, like to an enjoyer, like a diseased one. He who knows every state shall become Omniscient and be like the prince of yogees.
